1. Who we are

TradeBird is an automated missed-call response and lead-qualification service built for Australian trade businesses. TradeBird is operated by TradeBird (ABN 88 925 254 294), located at QLD 4221 (we, us, our).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with the TradeBird service, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using TradeBird — whether as a trade business customer or as a member of the public whose call or message is handled by TradeBird — you acknowledge this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect two broad categories of personal information depending on your relationship with TradeBird.

Callers and SMS contacts (members of the public)
When a member of the public calls a trade business that uses TradeBird, or replies to a TradeBird SMS, we may collect: your phone number, the content of your SMS messages, your name, your address or location, and other job details you choose to share. You are not required to provide any of this information, but without it TradeBird cannot connect you with the trade business or qualify your enquiry.

Trade business customers (account holders)
If you sign up to use TradeBird as a trade business, we collect: your email address and password, business name and contact details, lead and conversation records, and usage data about how you interact with the dashboard.

3. How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to qualify leads and send automated SMS replies on your behalf; to provide and display the TradeBird dashboard; to manage accounts and authenticate logins; and to improve the service using aggregate, de-identified data. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

4. Third-party service providers

We only share the minimum information necessary with each provider and do not authorise any of these providers to use your personal information for their own independent purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the TradeBird service. Lead and conversation records are retained for the duration of a trade business's active account and for 90 days after cancellation or termination, during which you may request a data export. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted unless retention is required by law.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. These include encrypted data storage via Supabase, HTTPS for all data in transit, password hashing, and access controls. No internet transmission is completely secure, but we will notify you of any eligible data breach as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to complain about a breach of the APPs. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us — we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

8. Cookies

The TradeBird marketing website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The TradeBird dashboard uses cookies and browser local storage solely for session authentication. Disabling cookies will prevent the dashboard from functioning correctly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify trade business account holders directly. Continued use of TradeBird after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Privacy questions or requests? We'll respond within 30 days.
